Did you know that you can dissolve an egg shell in a jar of vinegar and be left with this rubber ball-like membrane containing the yolk and white?
Pretty cool. It takes a couple of days for the shell to dissolve, so go put that egg in vinegar now to impress your holiday guests.

We set up the experiment - it started working right away. Now we have a lot of foam on the top - do you just leave it in the glass?
We took it it out and kept it in an empty container for a few days - until it was no longer amusing - then it went down the drain. I seem to remember it started drying out relatively quickly.
